Civil Service Language Network (CSLN) “Careers in Languages”
Year 8 joined the Civil Service Language Network (CSLN) “Careers in Languages” live session this morning where they heard about applying language skills to important real-world jobs.
They heard from a Spy and a Border Force Officer who shared their journeys behind learning multiple languages, and how they draw on their language skills to complete their jobs, whether it is translating documents, communicating with passengers, or solving national threats.
They also learnt tips for learning languages and the advantages, such as increased cultural awareness, problem-solving, improved memory, and many more.
This informative session gave our students an insight into the opportunities that languages can offer, which will help them as they begin to consider which languages to opt for in Years 9 and 10.
