McLaren Racing at The Marist School

McLaren Racing at The Marist

Last month we were incredibly fortunate to welcome McLaren Racing to The Marist for an inspiring and engaging session with our Year 9 and 10 pupils.

We were joined by two McLaren Racing team members at different stages of their careers: one currently on a graduate scheme, and the other a senior engineer. They offered unique insights into life at McLaren Racing, sharing personal experiences and perspectives from their respective roles.

The team also spoke about their individual journeys into McLaren Racing, emphasising the value of knowing and embracing your individuality.

The session concluded with a powerful and inspiring video created by the women of McLaren Racing, offering advice they would give to their younger selves. It highlighted the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and pushing through stereotypes or setbacks along the way.

We are incredibly grateful to Tom and Sarah for taking the time to visit and share such valuable insights… and for bringing along actual race kit worn by Lando Norris, which was the highlight of the afternoon!

A big thank you as well to Mrs Costello for arranging this incredible opportunity.
