Peter Granville

Bursar

Peter started his career as an accountant with Forte plc in the hospitality sector, ending up with Exclusive Hotels. After 20 years in hospitality he moved into the education sector where he has been a Bursar for 22 years. He started at Barrow Hills School before moving onto St George in Windsor, followed by schools in Hemel Hempstead and Oxford, before joining The Marist.

Will May

Head of Prep

Will attended British international schools in Holland and Venezuela before settling in Cambridgeshire. After a degree in Politics, he spent a few years in finance, before finding his vocation in teaching. As former Head of Key Stage 1, Head of Middle School, and Housemaster, Will brings with him a wealth of experience across the age-range, specialising in teaching Maths and Games. Will has a Masters in Educational Leadership and more recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Studies at Cambridge. He’s achieved high levels in sport and as a fan of endurance challenges, Will has raised huge amounts for charity, climbing Mont Blanc, completing an Ironman triathlon, running a Namibian ultra-marathon and cycling Land’s End to John O’Groats. 

Steve Rhodes

Deputy Head Academic

Growing up in Christchurch New Zealand, Mr Rhodes graduated with a Double Bsc in Microbiology and Ecology from Canterbury University. He then went on to graduate from Christchurch Teacher Training College with a Diploma of Education. He used his qualifications to teach in Wellington and Palmerston North in NZ and also in Nagano Japan. He arrived in England in 2004 taking up a position of A-Level Biology teacher at the Farnborough Sixth Form College. He developed his leadership in many different settings including Head of Science at Amery Hill, Alton and then Head of Science and Director of Learning and Teaching at St George’s, Ascot, before joining The Marist in 2020.

Bea Simmons

Deputy Head Pastoral - Designated Safeguarding Lead

Beatrice Simmons was a student at The Marist herself, attending the school between the ages of four and eighteen. She then studied at Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated with a degree in English; and then later studied at Reading University for a PGCE. Since then she has taught at secondary schools in both Berkshire and Surrey before become Deputy Head Pastoral at The Marist. Prior to joining The Marist, Beatrice gained a NPQH and a Masters in Education Leadership and Management from Reading University.
