Philharmonia Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, London – Music Trip

On Thursday 26 September our music scholars attended a concert of Nordic music by the Philharmonia Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London. They enjoyed a virtual reality experience of Sibelius’s music where VR headsets took them into the heart of the orchestra itself plus an exploration of the lakes and valleys of Sibelius’s native Finland, and after dinner at Wagamama’s they enjoyed the concert itself, including celebrated pianist Stephen Hough performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto. The inclement weather provided a few challenges on the journey home, but everyone agreed that the VR and concert experience was well worth the effort and we can’t wait to go again!
