Art & Design
Across years 7–13, our Art, Photography, Graphics and Textiles courses give students the chance to explore their creativity in many different ways. We encourage them to experiment, try new techniques, and develop confidence in expressing their own ideas. It’s a space where their imagination can grow, and where we celebrate the individuality, each student brings to their work. Performing Arts
Performing Arts are a key element in life at The Marist.
All pupils take part in Music and Drama when they enter the school, with many opportunities to perform throughout the academic year.
LAMDA
Private speech and drama lessons are available via the LAMDA system. Pupils are offered the choice between studying a syllabus in ‘acting’ or ‘verse and prose’, with exams scheduled to take place twice a year. Pupils are also able to participate in lessons without entering the exams if they prefer. Lessons are in pairs or one-to-one and both options are very popular. Exam results are consistently high with the vast majority of pupils gaining distinctions.
The main purpose of LAMDA classes is to allow pupils to develop life skills such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas. An added reward is that UCAS points for University applications are gained once pupils have reached Grade 6 and these go up with each further level attained.
Music & Drama
Music is integral to our life at The Marist, contributing to spiritual and pastoral wellbeing through its co-curricular provision and providing academic success across the Key Stages through its curriculum. The drama department offers exciting enrichment opportunities for pupils in all year groups.
