Year 13 Muck Up Day 2025 – 7 May

The Marist School Year 13 Muck Up Day 2025 – 7 May

On Wednesday 7 May our Year 13 students had their ‘muck up day’ and it was a great success.

On Wednesday morning we pulled onto the drive not surprised to see Year 13 waiting for us dressed as cowboys. They were armed with water pistols and had signs prompting you to honk your horn.

If you wished, you could donate money to their chosen charity at the safety of Ms Elwood, but you had to quickly wind your window up before they could ambush you with the water guns!

We can announce than an incredible £633.32 was raised for Teenage Cancer Trust and we would like to express our gratitude to parents and staff for all their generous donations. This would not have been possible without you.

We then entered the school to see a mess that had been plotted by Y13 the previous night and early that morning. Although we know to expect it, it is still a shock!

It was straight into Staff vs Y13 rounders, attended by the senior school, which has been tradition since 2010. It was an exciting match made better with two ice cream vans. The staff managed to win the match and earn the Stupils Cup back into their trophy cabinet.

The whole school then collected on the driveway ready for the Drive Through. This is where Year 13 get into their cars and do two loops round the village and through the school whilst we all stand and cheer.

It was then time for Y13 to clean up their mess, with the much-needed help from Y12, and get changed ready for formal photos in the Rosary Garden.

This was followed by a Mass that parents attended with lovely readings, songs, and a beautiful performance of Slipping Through My Fingers by Emma and Isabella.

The day finished with a picnic in the glorious sunshine and photos of proud parents and students. It was a glorious day and I’m sure all the younger years are planning for what they’ll do when they reach year 13!
